My Very First Post

April 28th, 2008 by Kristin Sample

I just started blogging on LiveJournal this past summer after years of pretending like blogs didn’t exist. I liked LJ because I could use it to keep in touch with my friends (mostly those I met in grad school and now live in other parts of the country). Plus it was a forum to complain about having to move out here to the West Coast (my husband C.K. and I were recently relocated).

But it was time to branch out, to expand my horizons, to find a new place to use all my favorite cliches. And I’m basically done with my novel that I’ve written since moving to the left coast. So I figured it was a good time to buy my domain name and start a real blog. Does LJ count as a real blog?

So here I am. My very own blog. I believe it’s a sign of the apocalypse. I’m the most un-techy (it’s a word now, deal with it) person ever. I’m sweating a little as I write this post thinking that I might screw it up and steal my own identity or shut down NASA or something. (Just kidding–not about the sweat.)

I’m getting a twitter and a flickr account too.

Yep, the zombies are coming. I suggest you go to Walmart and get some supplies.

Very pretty, your site! I think you should get a good, authorly photo, though.
